HELSINKI/STOCKHOLM – Five teams registered additional players for the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship prior to the games.

Host Sweden added defenceman Jonas Brodin (Färjestad Karlstad) and forward Johan Larsson (Brynäs Gävle) while the Czech Republic added TPS Turku defenceman Tomas Mojzis.

Russia registered three forwards: Yevgeni Ketov (Severstal Cherepovets), Denis Kokarev (Dynamo Moscow) and Sergei Shirokov (CSKA Moscow).

In Helsinki Switzerland added six players to its roster with goalkeeper Lukas Flüeler (ZSC Lions Zurich), defencemen Mathias Seger (ZSC Lions Zurich) and Patrick von Gunten (Frölunda Gothenburg), and forwards Matthias Bieber (Kloten Flyers), Denis Hollenstein (Kloten Flyers) and Daniel Rubin (Genève-Servette).

Canada registered Columbus Blue Jackets defenceman Marc Methot before the game against the U.S. and Italy added forward Daniel Tudin (Ritten).

All players added today have already been with the teams.

Teams can register up to 25 players (22 skaters, 3 goalkeepers) for the tournament. Additions are possible until two hours before each game until the roster is full.
