According to the Oxford Dictionary, a volunteer is: “a person who voluntarily takes part in an enterprise or offers to undertake a task voluntarily.” In conclusion your assignment as a Volunteer at the 2010 IIHF World Championship depends on the willingness to work without payment.
The second stage of application: the Interview
All applications received will be reviewed by the Organizing Committee. Upon review, an individual interview will be granted for qualified candidates. It is very important to keep your contact information up to date and send us an E-Mail in case of modifications: [email protected]. When all interviews and applications have been evaluated the Organizing Committee will inform the selected volunteers of the 2010 IIHF World Championship about their engagement.
Training
All selected volunteers will receive an agreement that needs to be signed and sent back to the Organizing Committee. Once the agreement is received, you will get an E-Mail explaining the next steps, such as training dates, uniform handover and operational concerns. In the build up to the 2010 IIHF World Championship, there will be a specific training to prepare the volunteers. The training includes general information about the 2010 IIHF World Championship, tournament-specific training to understand the volunteers’ responsibilities and the venue. Passing the training successfully is essential to being well-prepared for your tasks. The training is mandatory for all volunteers.
