Tickets 2009 IIHF World Championship

Over 300'000 Tickets sold.

Ice hockey fans around the globe continue to snap up tickets for the 2009 IIHF World Championship Switzerland. A 300'000 tickets were purchased already. Tickets can be purchased at the PostFinance arena in Berne, on this website - buy tickets - and at the 1,400 sales points of the exclusive distribution partner, Ticketcorner.

Should a category be sold out today, you may again find it on offer as soon as tomorrow. Indeed, this is the period when tickets are released from the contractually reserved quotas of the officials, partners and sponsors and returned to the organizer for sale. It is thus definitely worth occasionally revisiting this website, one of the 1,400 sales points of Ticketcorner or its website www.ticketcorner.com. You can also contact Ticketcorner by phone: 0900 800 800 from Switzerland (CHF 1.19/Min), 01805 10 14 14 from Germany (EUR 0.14 / min.) and 01 205 15 65 from Austria.

However ticket does not equal ticket. Four different types - valid for a game, a day, a round or the whole event - plus three ticket categories will allow each visitor to buy exactly what he or she is looking for. The ticket price scale reflects the importance of the round of play. Here an overview.

Single Game Tickets

Fans purchasing this type of ticket can attend an individual selected game. Single game tickets for the relegation round start at 19 Swiss Francs. For a preliminary round game they start at 49 Francs, for a quarter-final game at 79 Francs, and for the Gold Medal Game at 149 Francs. Good to know: for each type of ticket there are three categories to choose from. For example for the Final, tickets cost 149 Francs in Category 3, 249 Francs in Category 2, respectively 329 Francs in Category 1. Now available!

Day Tickets

These tickets grant entrance to two games that are played out on a same day. This will appeal in particular to fans planning a day out to attend the World Championship. For the preliminary round, day tickets start at 79 Francs. For two quarter-finals or two semi-finals, ticket prices start at 149, respectively 199 Francs. Day tickets for the preliminary round, qualifying round and final round are now available.

Round Tickets

These tickets are valid for several games played out within a same round. The Organizing Committee differentiates between the preliminary round, qualifying and relegation round, and final round. Group tickets for the preliminary round start at 235 Francs and entitle one to attend six preliminary round games within a same group. The group ticket for the qualifying/relegation round is valid for all of nine qualifying and three relegation round games at a same event venue, and starts at 505 Francs. And with a final round ticket, starting at 685 Francs, fans will be able to attend four quarter-finals, the two semi-finals, the bronze medal and the gold medal game. Ticket sales for all round tickets are open.
