In view of the enormous request, the setup was intensely re-calculated and checked. Now it is official: the capacity of the Schalke arena will be further enhanced to bear a total of 76,152 spectators at the opening game of the 2010 IIHF World Championship between the Olympic silver medal winner USA and Germany. Resulting from this enhanced capacity and from some returned tickets, approximately 1,500 further single tickets will go on sale immediately. The largest contingent is available in price category 1 at € 85 and price category 4 at € 29. Some tickets are also left in other available price categories.
In addition to this, the time schedule for the opening game incl. the pre-opening program has now been principally defined (subject to change):
Starting 2.00 pm Big Fan Fest outside of Stadium incl. Stage Program, Action Stands and Catering
Starting 5.15 pm Stadium Gates open
Starting 5.45 pm Grand Opening Show "GERMANY ON ICE" incl. Presentation of Championship Venues, Hockey Legends Game, Introduction of Nations, Performance of SCOOTER and official Opening Ceremony
Starting 8.15 pm World Championship Opening Game USA – Deutschland
