Tatu Lehmuskallio is the Head of Sports at Finnish broadcaster MTV3, the current rights holder to the IIHF World Championships.
 
Tatu was invited to MTV Oy broadcasting in Finland in 1994 to found and head its sports department. Since then the department has evolved to become the largest single unit within the company spreading its content across many distribution platforms.

MTV Oy is the largest television broadcaster in Finland owning and controlling 24 television channels of which three are almost entirely dependent on sports. The main sports rights properties include IIHF Senior Men, U20 and Women's World Championship, Team Finland ice hockey, European Trophy Final, Formula One, UEFA Champions League, FA Premiership, IAAF Diamond League, FIS Ski World Cup skiiing, World Rally Championship, ATP Masters Series, Wimbledon among others.

Tatu himself played ice hockey actively until the age of 18.

Bruno Marty is the Executive Director of Winter Sports at Infront Sports & Media.

Mr. Marty heads the Winter Sports division of the internationally leading sports marketing company since 2006. As former CEO of the Swiss Skiing Federation “Swiss-Ski”, he provides expert knowledge on all topics related to commercialising and expanding the group’s winter sports properties, currently composed of 6 Olympic Winter Sports. In total, Bruno Marty has spent more than twelve years in the sports business. He has launched two sports schools and built up the Sports Practice for McKinsey & Co – having worked for the management consultancy company for seven years.

The IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship is one of Infront’s main marketing & broadcast properties which Mr. Marty oversees.

Ueli Schwarz is the Director of Elite Sports within the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation, overseeing association, national team and league matters.

Schwarz has many years’ experience in GM and CEO functions in Swiss hockey on the professional level, including a key role in the organizing committee of the 2009 IIHF Worlds in Bern and Kloten.

The former Swiss national junior team player has coached on all levels, junior, amateur, professional and national team.

Alexander Medvedev is the President of the Kontinental Hockey League, since its founding in 2008. Mr. Medvedev is also the chairman of the league’s executive board.

Also in 2008, he was elected to the IIHF Council, the federation’s executive body. Mr. Medvedev is also member of the Supervisory Board of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation and involved in the operations of the SKA St. Petersburg KHL-club.

Mr. Medvedev is well-known as Deputy Chairman of the energy company Gazprom and an avid participant in old-timer’s hockey games.

Timo Everi is the Chairman of the Finnish SM-Liiga club IFK Helsinki and board member of Finnish League. Mr. Everi represents the Finnish clubs on the board of the European Trophy.

Outside of hockey, Timo has gained over 20 years’ experience in a number of sectors, including Telecommunications, Advertising, Retail, Media, FMCG and Sports, as well as an in-depth working knowledge of Europe, the Middle East and the US.

Everi has won numerous awards for his work, including a lifetime achievement award (platinum) from the Finnish Advertising Industry (2002).

Peter Angell joined IEC in Sports as Chief Operating Officer in May 2012 and was formerly Director of Production for Host Broadcast Services (HBS) at the 2002 and 2006 FIFA World Cups™.

He was Project Director for the host broadcast operations of the Asian Games in Doha 2006 and Kazakhstan 2011 and headed the HBS/Infront Production Division which covered all HBS’ production activities including 3D delivery at the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ and other production-led projects for the Infront Group.

Prior to joining HBS in 2000, Peter was Head of TV Production at TEAM Marketing.

Ken Yaffe is the President of Yaffe Sports Ventures (YSV), an advisory firm specializing in sports media, live events, and strategic marketing.

Mr. Yaffe created YSV, following 19-years as an executive with the National Hockey League, where he was Senior VP of NHL International. As such he was instrumental in the NHL’s Olympic participation in 2002, 2006 and 2010 and he was the NHL’s principle executive for the 2004 World Cup of Hockey.

Mr. Yaffe supervised all the NHL Premiere tours in Europe, including the 2008 and 2009 Victoria Cups. Most likely, Yaffe is the North American hockey executive with the most extensive knowledge of European and international hockey. 

YSV’s current clients include MIPS AB, a developer of advanced protective helmet technology based in Stockholm, Sweden and Athletic Republic.

Don Fehr was named Executive Director of the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) in December 2010, after serving as an advisor to the union for a year.  The NHLPA is the union which represents all players in the NHL.

Previously, Don spent 33 years with the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA), the last 26 of which as its Executive Director.  Prior to joining the MLBPA, Don worked as outside counsel on the landmark Messersmith-McNally free agency case for the union. Under Don’s leadership, the MLB players successfully maintained unity through one lockout and two strikes.

He played an important role in growing the sport of baseball beyond North America, including helping in the creation and development of the World Baseball Classic In June 2009, Don announced his retirement as MLBPA Executive Director.  Don also served for seven years as a Public Sector member of the Board of Directors of the United States National Olympic Committee for seven years.

Don serves as the NHL players' chief negotiator in collective bargaining with NHL owners.

Kevin Gilmore is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the National Hockey League’s most prestigious club, the Montreal Canadiens. He assumed this position in April 2011.

Before coming back to his home province, the Arvida, Quebec native spent 18 years in various professional sport positions in California. From 1993 to 1998 he was Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Anaheim Sports Inc., owners of the NHL Anaheim Mighty Ducks and the Anaheim Angels baseball club.

Between 1999 and 2006, he was the Los Angeles Kings VP of Hockey Operations, 2006-2009 Senior VP with the Anschutz Entertainment Group’s global operations, incl. venue management and pro sport teams, several of the based in Europe.

Before joining the 24-time Stanley Cup champions Canadiens, Gilmore headed Socal Soccer City Holdings in California.

Briza is the Chairman of the Board of Sparta Prague since 2011 and he was the club’s General Manager between 2006 and 2011. Mr. Briza is also a board member of the European Trophy.

The former Czechoslovak and Czech Republic goaltender represented his country on 114 occasions, participating in seven World Championships and three Olympic games. Adding club competition, Briza played in more than 1000 games.

Mr. Briza is a member of the Czech Ice Hockey Association’s Executive Committee and since 2010 Member of the Municipal Parliament of the City of Prague.

Gernot Tripcke is the General Manager of the German top-pro ice hockey league, DEL.

In 1997 he was named Director of operations by the then newly founded DEL.

In May 2000 the shareholders appointed him to be General Manager of The DEL. He is also a founding Member of Hockey Europe, the union of the top professional hockey leagues in Europe.

He has studied Law at The Ruhr-University Bochum and the University of San Diego law with a focus on sports law before joining the legal department of the RWE group.

Franz Reindl, is the General Secretary German Ice Hockey Association, DEB. From 1992 to 2010, the 181-times German national team player worked as Director of Sports for the DEB, since 2003 also General Secretary. General Secretary of the World Championship Organizing Committees 2001 and 2010. Since 1998 Franz Reindl has been a member of various committees within the IIHF, most notably the Competition Committee.

During his active career Reindl played 669 Bundesliga games for his home club SC Riessersee and SB Rosenheim, scoring 423 goals. Highlight of his career was the Olympic Bronze Medal 1976 in Innsbruck.

As player, coach and manager Franz Reindl participated at 28 World Championships and nine Olympic Tournaments. Reindl received his business training as management assistant in wholesale and foreign trade.

Mr. Urban is he General Secretary of the Czech ice Hockey Association. He assumed that position in 2004 after being the General Secretary of the IIHF World Championship in Prague the same year. Prior to that, Mr. Urban was the Director of Hockey Development with the Anschutz Entertainment Group as well the General Manager of Sparta Prague.

The former Slavia Prague and HC Pardubice player became later head coach on junior national team level (U16 – U18), on division I level as well as in the WHL with the Swift Current Broncos. In the 90s, Mr. Urban worked as a part-time scout with for Toronto, Edmonton and Boston.

He is today also member of the IIHF’s Competition and Co-ordination Committees.

Peter John Lee is the Director of Hockey Operations for the Eisbären Berlin of the German Elite League, DEL. Lee has been instrumental in winning eight championships in as many years; six DEL titles, one German Cup and one European Trophy title.
 
Lee started his playing career with the Ontario Hockey League’s Junior Ottawa 67’s in 1971. He played 431 games for the Pittsburgh Penguins before leaving for Germany’s Düsseldorf EG in 1982. He played 10 seasons in Düsseldorf winning four German Championships. He was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1st round in 1976, but played all his 431 NHL games with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Peter Lee is one of the driving forces in Germany behind the development of both youth hockey and European hockey in general.

Slavormir Lener is the Director of Czech National Teams, a position he assumed in 2010 after returning to his native Czech Republic after working with club hockey in Sweden.

Mr. Lener has been involved in some of the greatest successes of the Czech National Team. He was the assistant coach with the 1996 IIHF World Championship winning team and together with Ivan Hlinka coach of the 1998 team which won Olympic Gold in Nagano. Head Coach of the Czech team in the 2003 and 2004 IIHF World Championships.

He is one of the very few European coaches who made a name for themselves in the NHL, spending three seasons with the Calgary Flames and also four Years with the Florida Panthers, both as assistant coach. After two stints as coach of Czech top club Sparta Prague, Lener spent four years coaching in the Swedish Elite League, with Lulea and Linkoping. Assumed the position as Director/Head Coach of Czech National Teams In 2010.

Håkan Loob is the President of Färjestad BK in Karlstad, a role he assumed in 2009 after being the club’s GM between 1996 and 2009. During Loob’s leadership, Färjestad has consolidated its position as a sportive and financial powerhouse in Swedish club hockey.

Håkan Loob, inducted to the IIHF Hall of Fame in 1998, is one of Swedish hockey’s all-time greats and one of only 25 players in the World who are members of the Triple Gold Club for players who have won the Olympic gold, World Championship gold and the Stanley Cup.

Recording numerous scoring records in the Swedish Elite League with Färjestad, Loob is still the only Swedish player to score 50 goals in one NHL season, with the Calgary Flames.

Mr. Furrer became President of the Swiss National League in 2006 and is a Vice President of the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation. He came to ice hockey from rowing where he for eight years (1996-2004) chaired the Swiss Rowing Association.

In his life outside hockey, Mr. Furrer is the President of the Swiss Federal Communications Commission (ComCom) since 2005 and Director of the Postal Regulation Authority (PostReg). In 2006-2007 he was President of FRATEL (the telecom regulation network of the French-speaking countries).

In 2005 he was State Secretary and head of the Swiss Delegation for the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Tunis. In 2003 he was responsible for content and organizational preparations for the UN World Summit on the Information Society in Geneva.

Mr. Furrer was instrumental in process of re-structuring of Swiss Ice Hockey into a modern entity where the association and league work under the same elite umbrella.
